The Wedding

We hung out in the back the of Juno Garden for a bit while the rest of the people arrived. I talk with the wedding planner, the photographer, got mic’d up for the video and all. It was really happening. It was warm and the sun was just beginning to set. The aisle was lined up with LED candles and everything looked awesome. I walked my mom down the aisle and to her spot and got lined up. The rest of the groomsmen followed soon after.

Then the music started and the bridesmaids started coming down the aisle. As each one came down it all became more and more real. And then it happened. I heard the music, Christina Perri – A Thousand Years, and saw my bride walk out with her dad and Jacob. She looked amazing! She told me before that she thought I would cry when I saw her, but I told her that I wouldn’t and she was almost right. It took so much not to cry at the sight of her, but I stayed strong.

She walked down the aisle, I shook Jacob and her dad’s hands and then we took our positions. The reverend promised to walk us through everything and we didn’t have to memorize the whole process and he did a great job. It all went so fast too. Before I knew it we were exchanging rings and going through our vows. I was so worried beforehand about messing something up here but I think it went really well. And then we finally got to kiss as official husband and wife.

The music then played, Pharrell Williams – Happy, and we walked back down the aisle. We were married! All that hard work and it was all over. I can’t really believe how quickly it went. And I will never forget how beautiful Amanda was in that moment. Not that she isn’t every other moment I see her, but it is something I will never forget. Part of me is sad that it went so fast, but I never wanted a long, drawn out wedding, so I think it was what fit best.

We took many pictures after. We haven’t gotten the official pictures back from the photographer, but my niece Courtney was there to take many for us.

After the wedding, we had an amazing meal at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab. It seemed to take us forever to get there because we had to walk through the entire Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, but it was nice to spent some time alone with my wife and just talk about what had happened.

I wish I could capture that happiness and keep it with me forever. I hope that my ring will be a reminder and my memory of that day will never fade. I was always skeptical when people said that their wedding was the happiest day of their life, but right now I feel like that is the case. I never want to forget all of those emotions of that day and I hope that these pictures and words will help me keep them.
