On Friday, we took advantage of the long holiday weekend to take a trip out to Yellow Springs, OH. First up were the sunflower fields. There are around 400,000 plants in this field and it was amazing to see so many of them at once. I think we were a bit early still because many of them hadn’t bloomed yet. It was also cold and wet so I am sure that didn’t help.
After the sunflower fields, we went a bit to the southeast to Clifton Gorge.
There is supposed to be a waterfall somewhere around here, but we had not planned this part so were not really prepared to hike much, so we only saw a little bit of the gorge.

After visiting Clifton Gorge, we were off to see the Clifton Mill. We had lunch here and walked around to see the historic items around the mill.

Our final stop on the trip was a visit to Young’s Jersey Dairy. This place has a shop, a mini-golf course and animals you can pet. I found a sweet cow and got to pet him. I think it was a him at least because it had notches for horns. I don’t really know much about cows.

Overall, it was a fun trip and I am glad we took it. We hope to be able to visit the Clifton Gorge again but next time with better equipment for hiking.
