Red Rock Canyon Scooter Tour

Early the next day, we were on our way to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area to take an adventure with Red Rock Scooter Tours. I didn’t know what to expect at first, but it came recommended to us by my sister and boyfriend who took the tour a few weeks before. But after taking the tour, I highly recommend it – it was one of the best things we did in Las Vegas. It was an amazing few hours to enjoy the nature that the desert can provide.

The tour started off with some training on how to ride the scooters since we were all beginners and then we were off to four different stops.

First stop was to see some boulders and there were some hikers already climbing them. They don’t look large, but due to how they are angled away from you in this picture it is actually quite deceiving.

The next stop was on one of the peaks at an altitude of about 5000 feet and looking down on the valley below.

Stop three was to visit a site where Native Americans used to live and cook their meals. In picture one, you can actually see some handprint petroglyphs. We also got a nice tour around this site and learned a lot about how they lived and used the plants around them for various purposes. The mountain is where the big horned goat lives, but none of them made their presence known to us this time. This was my favorite stop of the tour.

The last stop was to see another mountain, I think it is called Dale’s mountain or at least Dale’s trail. At this stop we also got to see some more plant life including the creosote bush. The one we saw was estimated to be about 600 years old. It was really amazing to think that this plant had been around that long.

We had a great time at Red Rock Canyon riding the scooters. I highly recommend this tour if you are ever in Las Vegas. It is a great break away from the hustle of the city life and being able to enjoy nature. I also posted a review on TripAdvisor.com.
