Since I have become quite the bird person, I got a heated bird bath for Christmas. It will be a nice resource for the birdies over winter since it is hard for them to find fresh water once everything gets cold. I added some river stones to the middle as something they can stand on. I have it on a smart outlet so it doesn’t run constantly. I am excited to see how it performs once it really gets cold here.
On Memorial Day, we decided to take a quick trip down to Wilmington Air Park (ILN) and see the parked Delta planes. They are parking some 767s and 717s while the demand is low. We also got to see some other gems while we were there including the Patriots 767 plane and a few other cargo planes including an Amazon Prime 767.
While we were under quarantine, we decided to do a tour of the nearby Union County Covered Bridges. This would allow us to keep our distance and also get outside to enjoy the warm weather. Here are the pictures I took from our day trip.
I never knew these existed until recently. It was nice to get out to see them and learn some history about our state. You never know what might be hiding just beyond your neighborhood that is interesting to see. Once this quarantine is over I am definitely going to make more of an effort to get out and see things.
One of my favorite planes, the Boeing 777 or Triple 7 has a new version that took its first test flight today – the 777X. There will be two new versions of the plane the 777-8 and the 777-9 which are going to be larger versions of the 777-200 and 777-300. I am excited to see this and I hope I am able to take a flight on this in the next few years. Congrats to Boeing on this huge accomplishment!

This year we participated in the 5th Line 5k in downtown Columbus. The race ended on center ice at Nationwide Arena which was pretty cool. The race took us through parts of downtown that I had only seen before in a car and I was able to appreciate the view.
Luckily it was not too cold and did not rain or snow which was nice or else it would have made things miserable. We were able to finish with a much better time than the last race we completed and hope to do even better next time.
Last weekend, we took a quick trip out to San Francisco to see the Browns play the 49ers on Monday Night Football. The game did not go as hoped, but we did get to see some cool stuff while we were out there.
We drove over the Golden Gate Bridge this time. Last time we walked over it.
We also drove around downtown San Francisco and over the Bay Bridge before getting some lunch at In-N-Out. Since it was a Sunday, we watched some NFL football.

After a month and thirteen flights, I felt like I had a good sample to make a comparison between the two. I realize that this is incomplete because it does not factor in things such as extreme summer or winter weather since all of this travel was during a relatively tame spring month. Also both sets of data do not have any international flights since my job does not require this yet for me. So with those qualifications let’s jump into the details!

After we got finished with the pool at Caesars Palace it was time to decide where to eat dinner since Hell’s Kitchen was out of the plans. We did some searching and decided on another Gordon Ramsay restaurant, Gordon Ramsay Burger at Planet Hollywood. Neither of us had been to Planet Hollywood, so it was a good idea to take a quick walk over to that casino. Luckily, we got right in! The meal was amazing and we had some dessert too while we were there. It was our anniversary of course so we had to splurge.
It was Friday and the last day our of stay at The Venetian. But more importantly it was our first anniversary! We did not have super set plans yet and we had to check out soon, so why not visit the famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop!
